Did you ever think that food scraps affords a massive opportunity to play, explore, and imagine? Inspiration is at your fingertips and in your hands when you take a second look at everyday food waste. As a 2021 Ontario Cultures Days Creative in Residence, with cinematographer Amit Kehar, we explored the reusability of these items through a video piece that introduced macro-photography as a means to create stories.
We facilitated an in-person narrative workshop during the annual Culture Days Festival at Saw Gallery in Ottawa which encouraged participants to bring in their own food scraps to create characters and stories which was added to our online gallery below.
After the festival, we unveiled the images and had an artist talk on Instagram live. See the video here
